Jumping into the Water

Here we go. A number of people  test-read my novel; fiction writing classes and writers group have reviewed and critiqued. I  edited and tweaked, rewrote the query’s hook sentence more times than I care to count. Have read aloud, to myself and to others.

Now begins the chapter of uncertainty, of icy showers of rejections. I have begun to query agents. I’m taking my time, studying websites and agents’ preferences, second-guessing every word in my letter and synopsis. The question at the back of my mind remains. Will it be good enough? Will it get to the right agent at the right time?

I’m going slowly, only submitting to a few agents at a time. No mass e-mails. I have waited so long. No mistakes now, please.
